As Stephen Colbert prepares to say goodbye to “The Colbert Report”, he welcomed Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick debuted an untitled new track alongside a band featuring Thundercat, Bilal, Anna Wise, and Terrace Martin. During the Colbert’s interview Lamar also discussed why he’d rather be viewed as a writer than a rapper. “I pride myself on that. It’s more storytelling than putting rhyming words together.” Indeed, this fabulous performance is definitely evidence of that.
