balance. mind
and body intertwined.
upright, my head reaches
beyond the trees
to touch the sky.
my mind clear, I close my eyes.
focus without concentration.
no sharpness.
no edge.
open and aware, i stretch.
i inhale and exhale,
counting my breaths.
no thoughts; just breaths.
my emotions leave me.
the stillness of nature comforts me.
i am silent.
the air is filled with scents
and it rush stimulates my senses
i am one with the breeze
and nature is my altar.
joy.
Heaven.

This past Saturday Night was Spread Love’s annual Felabration party. This party is a celebration of the music and life of Fela Kuti . This Felabration was special because the musical FELA ! was here in Atlanta that week, and it was the 10th anniversary of Rich Medina’s Jump N Funk Party . It was a very good night from the start all the way to the end of the night. When I got there Dj Kemit was getting the vibe started and the spot was packed by 11:00 . Then after Kemit had folks warmed up and dancing, The Darryl Reeves Group came on for a quick live performance of a few of Fela’s...

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and according to BlackDoctor.org “African-American females experience higher death rates from breast cancer than any other racial or ethnic group.” This is partially due to African-American women tending to have more aggressive tumors. The fact is not meant to scare you, but it is meant as a wake up call.
Educate yourself and women you know on risk factors, discover ways to reduce the risk of breast cancer, learn how to give yourself a breast exam, and help to fight breast cancer....

I am almost over the sexual lust & control i crave from u
Who knew that i would grow to possibly surpass my nympho-ism
Sum people listening that think they know me, would probably disagree with great optimism
But what is happening is a true transformation
My quest for self knowledge leads me to a magnificent destination
With ur guidance and the most highs’ persistance i search for self
Tho all this must take place rather hastily i overstand because too many of us are trapped on a religion shelf
I feel a mission forming itself before me and i can’t afford for
my vision to be blurry

One Sunday night I went over to Cafe Circa to check out Salah Ananse’s Afrique Electrique party with special guest Ramon Rawsoul, drummer Lil John Roberts, and House music legend Josh Milan, from Honeycomb Music . Ramon Rawsoul opened up the evening with his Deep House selections, then Lil John started to acompany him on the drums . The birthday boy Salah came on to put his touch on the night . Then Josh Milan came on and took the crowd on a musical journey to make it a memorable night. Well enough of me , lets see the pics
enjoy

When we spoke with Co-Owner & Operator of House of Blended Ink (Hobi), Tamarah Jones aka SHE, she spoke with us about her and her partner, Ramon Taylor’s, vision for HOBI as a “home for artists” where the creative can have a professional ends to their artwork.
