pgp267: Sheree on the OTHER side of the LENS

The last time that images involving Sheree graced the Garden, she was BEHIND the camera. It was early in her career as a photographer, yet even then her works displayed an edgy creative quality that is still a part of her visual aesthetic today. A few ago we decided to flip the script. The artist would become the muse. earthSista SUCCESS had just revealed to me a beautiful waterfall that would be an excellent backdrop for more nature shoots. And I couldn’t wait to test it out. Immediately, I thought of Sheree. I had not met her when we featured her works so long ago. After we met I was personally...

The Green House Music Festival & Sunday Dinner in the ATL

Well it was a fun, hot weekend this past weekend here in Atlanta . I started out over at The Green House Music festival. When I got there Stan Zeff was on and he had the crowd movin. Right when I got into a shooting groove the thunderstorm hit and it started to rain in buckets . Yusef , John Dennis and Hodge quickly acted and had a tent over Stan and the sound equipment. But unfortunatley the storm was too strong, and the party had to shut down for safety reasons. After a brief delay to move the sound system under the pavillion, the party restarted. I had to leave early to shoot another engagement...

pgp266: An Urban Queen in Chicago Color

Collective inspiration… the sum is far greater than the individual contributions. “I am not going to say much here; the creators of this collection have their own statements. I will say that these images are the culmination of Chi-town artists inspired by an earthSista as their muse. The collective experience is, at times, humorous and tense and always real as they all come together to make it happen. Artist and filmmaker Paul Branton, Photographer Tracy Lynn Deis and earthSista Queen Hadassah Esther share a colorful experience with the rest of us….” –Vincent “I...

TTColes on Feeding The People

TTColes “It was Sunday and I had the pleasure of joining freedom fighter, Kalonji Changa and his crew in a concerted effort to nourish the bodies and souls of hundreds of hungry Atlantans. I was grateful and humbled to be in the presence of such wonderful brothers and sisters that willfully donate their time (at least) two times a month to prepare food and clothing to serve some of the less fortunate that dwell in the city. As the founder/director of The FTP Movement, Kalonji developed missions such as Feed The People, MOBB (Mothers of Black and Brown Babies), and Siafu Youth Group. (Kalonji...
