colour…

At the project we’ve explored several concepts with models interested in being a part of the web portal and things appear to be shaping up. Here are a few images from the shoots we’ve done so far. We are really enjoying what we are coming up with. I hope you like it too.

That window, even screened, allows lady beetles. Luck sprinkles the ceiling. Magazines and perm rollers litter your flat like so many sweets beaten from a donkey. But right now, little matters except butter. Butter, you hope, will armor you: against the city’s parasitic grit, against your bus mate’s accosting grin. The coarsest of sentiments slipping past manilla teeth. Morning breathes her last. Your metronome quickens as the wind hijacks Adhan, presses traces of worship against your hips, and trails you to the door.

While working on a shoot with a model, I asked Nobella if she could help me out with some jewelry to compliment the look. She said yes…then she pointed out that we picked the wrong skirt for the look. Then she went with us on the shoot. The rest is history. We spent a great deal of time going concepts for future shoots and we both became inspired. I found her vision refreshing. And I, honestly, found her appreciation of mine, comforting. I look forward to creating more images with her. In the meantime…does anyone else have ideas for images? What would you like to see in the Garden?

a moment in nature…

I’ve been impressed by the works of Lee Bey for the past couple of years; his images were influential in my own actions toward becoming a photographer. And when I saw his images of Trace, I reached out to him and asked him about including them in the Garden. Since then, I have corresponded with both he and Trace and they’ve been great about contributing to their talents here. Trace is a writer, amateur photographer and single mother. And these images were created as part of a celebration of her 40th birthday. Lee asked Tracy to talk about posing nude for the first time. “…well...

It’s been a minute since I updated the blog. The interest in building a web portal is growing and the labor to put the vision together is intensive. There’s a lot to do, not the least of which are shoots and presentations. I’ll go into more detail as things progress. These captures are looks at the behind-the-scenes of the first shoot we did for the site. This is exciting!

Dark Lovely…that her email tag. She is that and so much more. A gifted and talented writer who has had her share of hardships and served her country. The depths of her inner beauty are as deep as the harmony of her outer beauty. These are just a few of the images from a recent shoot we did. I have more to come and I look forward to shooting her again.
