These images of Kareen are from the works of Dorlis, a photographer in France and a member of the Organic SOUL CREW. They are part of his set of images called SHE. And you see more of his works here.
While I love his works I know very little about him. The photographer transgress says it best in this testimonial he made about Dorlis and his captures…
“a beautiful soul that generates an equal amount of soulful portraits that speaks more than any music or words would do. through his world of beauty and strength I feel like a stronger person, being reminded of everyday soulness and beauty....

I read some verse from Muze and it was deep & poetically insightful. It opened my own eyes. Sometimes you really don’t know what you are missing until…
loved, once…
i was in love once…
my thoughts, chaotic, ran in circles
leaving her but always coming back
i was not alone
its over now. as over as it can be.
but every now and then
a word might be said
or a gesture made
or the light strikes her in just the right way…
and i’m in love again.
and that’s when it hurts.
’cause it over.

I’m taking a quick break to check out some of the media out there and I am excited by what I see. Specifically, I happened upon a couple of recent entries posted by a couple of my favorite bloggers. I’ve attached what I liked as well links to their original posts. If you haven’t checked out Kiss My Black Ads and Naturally Leslie out for yourselves, you do not know what you’ve been missing.

Surrender, originally uploaded by ShayGon Designs.
Melanie “Shay” LaRocque, a South London girl of Trinidadian heritage currently in transit to the British Virgin Islands. She currently pursues her passion and life-dream of running an Art and Design Studio full-time. Check it out HERE.
A quote from the lady Shay on the series:
“When you see her coming down the road, you better make way for that Fro’. Sometimes she’s down but definately not out. Sometimes she’s stern but her heart is a marshmellow. Never under-estimate the power of Ms Af-Ro!”

Dark Lovely…that her email tag.
She is that and so much more. A gifted and talented writer who has had her share of hardships and served her country. The depths of her inner beauty are as deep as the harmony of her outer beauty. These are just a few of the images from a recent shoot we did. I have more to come and I look forward to shooting her again.

I have been a huge admirer of Alain’s images for 15 years and I know of several photographers and artists who share my sentiment. The images of his that I love are in his Black Mirages body of work that he shot in Africa. I find his captures to be inspiring and his collages to be, especially, provocative. I’ve included a few of his collages here, but feel free to check out the rest of his works here and here!
The following are paraphrased excerpts from his bio…
He is not a photographer but, as he is pleased to say, he goes in for photography. For he combines the technique of...
