Collective inspiration… the sum is far greater than the individual contributions.
“I am not going to say much here; the creators of this collection have their own statements. I will say that these images are the culmination of Chi-town artists inspired by an earthSista as their muse. The collective experience is, at times, humorous and tense and always real as they all come together to make it happen. Artist and filmmaker Paul Branton, Photographer Tracy Lynn Deis and earthSista Queen Hadassah Esther share a colorful experience with the rest of us….”

Is life different for women who are darker than most?
As a dark-skinned brother, I have dealt with issues relating to race and the concepts of being “black enough” or “too black” from my brothas and sistas but generally they were in the problems with my actions and not so much the darkness of my skin. Growing up, I was aware of other folks issues with their own skin color but it wasn’t until I started creating these captures for the Project that I realized how deep, pervasive and devastating the traumas were.
Recently I saw the preliminary work on Bill Duke’s...

He says he’s an EccentricSoul with a vision. And from his imagination he tells stories of the unseen. Indeed. As an artist of photography, Remy constantly, seeks to elevate himself creatively by stepping outside of his fine art comfort zone and manifesting his style for fashion and couture. And he seeks out women and men who DARE to step outside the box with him. All of his models agree that when they work with him, he definitely takes their ports to another level.
Remy employs colours in their vivid and primary forms. He exploits their richness to enhance the passion in his captures....

RepJA could not have chosen a better set of models. The ladies and gentlemen of Pangea’s Garden were up early that Sunday morning in June to grace the internationally expressed fashions of RepJA! This vibrant and colorfully cultivated and edgy clothing line blends into its style the language, music, and dances of Jamaica with an American twist. The models were up for the task of showcasing the Pangea’s Garden natural essence, while accentuating RepJA’s Caribbean flair in fashion.
RepJA is young, hip, and up-to-date, yet speaks to the tastes of fashion lovers. Spanning...

…with Tamara Natalie Madden and Vincent Christie
Recently, I collaborated on a shoot with The Pangeas Garden founder, Vincent Christie. I was obviously humbled because he’s such an amazing photographer. We shot model, ButtaFly, for a campaign for Charly Palmer’s upcoming line of jewelry. Take a look a some of the pics below and let us know how you feel.

On a sunny Georgia day; I had another wonderful shoot with Nadine. Her skin glistens so beautifully in the sun, it’s as if she was made from it.

I had a moment.
It was around the time at the end of session with a model that I’d shot in my HomeStudio. I knew we were done, she needed the images for an online community she was involved in and we had plenty…
We took a few more shots. They were a little racy and I was very interested in the play of bright colour on dark skin. They ended up not being used in the set. I think they look beautiful here. Do you?
