Collective inspiration… the sum is far greater than the individual contributions.
“I am not going to say much here; the creators of this collection have their own statements. I will say that these images are the culmination of Chi-town artists inspired by an earthSista as their muse. The collective experience is, at times, humorous and tense and always real as they all come together to make it happen. Artist and filmmaker Paul Branton, Photographer Tracy Lynn Deis and earthSista Queen Hadassah Esther share a colorful experience with the rest of us….”

by earthSista Nfinite Being in front of the camera inspired me to step behind it. I absolutely love photography, and I often get the urge to shoot. In those moments I call upon my muse, Hafsa. On this particular shoot I wanted to showcase her natural beauty. We shot in various spots on campus (Agnes Scott College). It was a beautiful day…

Pigeons chirped quietly overhead while trains passed by very slowly in the distance, coming to a stop. Kudzu wrapped around urban trees and fences. Concrete squares and loose wooden boards (that were probably pulled from inside the factory warehouse-turned-art studios) spontaneously peppered nature’s grounds. The exterior walls of the converted building were splattered with intermittent graffiti masterpieces that changed on an irregular basis. And it was here that the earthSista Sincere’s first captures were created.
Accompanied by her love, earthSista Chadoe and earthSista/Photographer...

My mother named me Jhavia Nicole…I named myself Nfinite. This alias is one I came up with in 2007, and it is the name I usually use as an artist. Nfinite Dream is the alias in its entirety; this name suits me because I always have been and always will be a dreamer, and also because my dreams are limitless…they cannot be bound by even my own imagination.
I am a college senior majoring in English Literature. I am also focusing on education. I plan to teach and/or work for a nonprofit organization. No matter what career path I choose, I know I will continue pursuing my artistic endeavors...

Ah, yes. Spring. Rebirth. As we emerge from a harsh, bitter winter, let’s look back on the birth of earthSista ISIS as she takes a refreshing stroll through one of the Garden’s secret paths. This set is relaxed and easy, with playful sunlight and delicate poses. ISIS declares who she is, and the camera captures her awakening.

COCO strolled toward the gazebo that jutted out across the still lake.
Overhead, the sun dropped lower and lower behind the canopy of trees as the silent waters began to take on an ethereal abiance…
There was something inviting about the approaching darkness. It had enticed COCO and she wanted to enjoy it. Earlier in the day she was a proud Amazon swimsuit model but in the night, she was the playfully sensual temptress. The darkness wrapped around her like a cool comfortable blanket. Her beautiful dark skin was bare against it. The rush of the day had faded and the stillness of the evening...

Two things were a constant on this stroll: the heat and Sarafina’s smile. The day did not start out smoothly. On the way to the lake, there were unexpected car problems but Sarafina took it all in stride. She was always positive and kept things light. The heat was merciless even at the lake. But the sky was bright, the day was beautiful, as for Sarafina… it was hard for her not to laugh. earthSista GreenRose tagged along and stayed behind the scenes. The two of them kept the stroll lively. GreenRose was her typically sassy and upbeat self. Sarafina was energetic and vivacious. On this...

Amid the setting of clear blue waters and a bright blue sky, its very easy to notice how much the sun loves Bela Menina. On the day of this particular Nature Stroll around our favorite lake, the sun was relentless in its warmth. This was only my second outing with the impulsive young goddess and she was as open and frank as she had been at our first. The heat of summer enveloped us quickly and it wasn’t long before she shared her bare back and breast with the nature around us.
The stroll was irreverent and fun. We experimented with various approaches to creating interesting images as you...

She is an earthSista of many names, many dimensions. She’s a diva, she’s the MF Boss, she’s and urbanista princess who loves being Bela. Before she did her first earthSista shoot, the impulsive Menina strolled the tracks and as I created this handful of captures, there is a symbolism that is evident to me. She has been on a path of her own choosing for a little while. One filled with determination and glamour and light. But it also has it rocky roads ahead and in the past. The impulsive sista embraces all of it and finds strength, edge and swagger in ever step of her path. She...

The Nature Stroll with earthSista Lotus was spontaneous, adventurous, lively and downright outrageous; just like Lotus, herself. She is a passionate free-spirit who was very enthusiastic about creating an image set for the series. We took our stroll around the lake and she was very open. We talked about family and friends while we created images. The light loved her and nature seemed to be her muse as she was mine. This shoot was one of our firsts. Since then she has participated in various events and several other shoots, some of which have already been featured. But on this day, she opened up...
