At various times in our lives we all have to shed the baggage of the past and move forward to a positive destiny much lighter than we were before.
So was the case with the Garden’s future Interviewer, EMPress. My favorite awkwardly, graceful amazon steps a bit more lightly now but no less beautiful and still full of humble pride. These images are part 1 of a 2 part retrospective of former tresses.
Captures from a walk in a park.

Remix, originally uploaded by SemperNovus.
Chris Wilson is a “rabid” amateur in photography who finds taking pictures very relaxing and rewarding. Under the name SemperNovus, his is a self-confessed Flickr addict. On his page he’s created a set called Henna that is definitely worth checking out.

At the project we’ve explored several concepts with models interested in being a part of the web portal and things appear to be shaping up. Here are a few images from the shoots we’ve done so far. We are really enjoying what we are coming up with. I hope you like it too.

Always the muse, Xian stands out because of her expressiveness. Working with the artsy environment at Apache Cafe & Lounge, she creates moods with each pose that constantly inspired artists and photographers alike.

Yesterday, while trolling through the blogs I follow, I happened upon a delight on Naturally Leslie. Its was an inspired pictorial of afros and flowers, called Sunday Cuteness, that I thought everyone here might enjoy. Thanks NL!

A candid at a small joint just outside of Atlanta. Jake. She fights fires for a living.

As I’ve worked on my images, I have been tossing around the idea of building a portal for the images and the influences…something that reflects the beauty and sensuality of the aesthetic and the cultural influences that it affects and that, in turn, affect it.
It would be a place for forums, maybe some interviews, beautiful photos and art. It could feature gear and products that are important to the look. I’ve talked to a few friends who are excited about what we could do with it. Some want to really push the envelope a bit more on the images and I have to admit I am interested...
