An extraordinary set of images captured by a Photographer in Singapore I know only as TungTong. What I have here is only a few of the incredibly rich images. You can check out the whole set here.

At various times in our lives we all have to shed the baggage of the past and move forward to a positive destiny much lighter than we were before.
So was the case with the Garden’s future Interviewer, EMPress. My favorite awkwardly, graceful amazon steps a bit more lightly now but no less beautiful and still full of humble pride. These images are part 1 of a 2 part retrospective of former tresses.
Captures from a walk in a park.

That window, even screened,
allows lady beetles.
Luck sprinkles the ceiling.
Magazines and perm rollers
litter your flat like
so many sweets
beaten from a donkey.
But right now, little matters
except butter. Butter, you hope,
will armor you: against
the city’s parasitic grit,
against your bus mate’s
accosting grin. The coarsest of
sentiments slipping
past manilla teeth.
Morning breathes her last. Your
metronome quickens as the wind
hijacks Adhan,
presses traces of worship
against your hips, and
trails you to the door.

I can’t empower anyone, but myself.
As a traditional artist, I did a show at the Apache Cafe & Lounge with another photographer a couple of years ago. I titled my series of pastel works “Real Beauty Has Curves” and it was a companion set with the photographers images. On the night of the opening show, curvaceous models, representing the aesthetic of the show posed for the artists and photographers that attended and during the course of the evening we hosted an Artist’s Talk about the works and it was quite provocative.
During the course of the discussion, the photographer...
