Midnight Erotica celebrated the art of Afrocentric sensuality or Afrosensuality. In the days and weeks to come, much discussion will be had regarding what Afrosensuality means because it definition plays a huge part in culture of the Pangea’s Garden. And in a way Midnight Erotica was a reflection of that influence. As the evening progressed that hot night in August, the patrons who had surveyed the visual gallery of black eros paintings, sculptures, drawings and photography, settled down to listen to the passionate, provocative verse of the various spoken word artists. earthSista AlleyCat...

Well this past Saturday night was the first Tambor Party of 2012 over at 595 North Ave . And Stan Zeff started the new year off with a bang , by having legendary Dj , producer Timmy Regisford as this months special guest . I got there a little later than normal so, I missed Stan Zeff and Dj BE’s set . So when I got there Timmy was already on and getting the crowd worked up playing his infectious blends. It is the end of the 7th, and final, day of KWANZAA. Today we celebrated IMANI (Faith). Today we renew our BELIEF in God, our people, our teachers and our leaders, and the virtue and victory of our struggle - IMANI!
When we speak of faith as it relates to the principles of the Nguzo Saba, one way we can practice Imani all year ’round is to always, always, always search for common ground amongst the desires and struggles of our peoples. This search is grounded in a FAITH that we all seek create a more community for our legacies. However, there are so many things that separate people in...

2011 was a tumultuous year in the Garden. We have gone thru a lot of changes, growing chaotically, organically along the way. Some folks have moved on while others have joined us followers and cultivators and we were fortunate to share some exciting times and provocative adventures along the way.
One of these exciting experiences was Yemi Toure’s Midnight Erotica. It was an evening in late summer and a few of the images from Pangea’s UdoU Series were included in an Afrocentric erotica art show featuring paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography and spoken word. Nobella body painted...

One Sunday night I went over to Cafe Circa to check out Salah Ananse’s Afrique Electrique party with special guest Ramon Rawsoul, drummer Lil John Roberts, and House music legend Josh Milan, from Honeycomb Music . Ramon Rawsoul opened up the evening with his Deep House selections, then Lil John started to acompany him on the drums . The birthday boy Salah came on to put his touch on the night . Then Josh Milan came on and took the crowd on a musical journey to make it a memorable night. Well enough of me , lets see the pics
enjoy

From the Malcolm X fest to the Funky Ass Party to House in the Park, we’ve enjoyed ourselves and in many cases, the earthSistas have participated in the occurrences we recorded. A few months ago we posted the captures from the Art on the Rooftop Party sponsored by the artist, John Glover. And everyone enjoyed themselves so much that we are back in the same lofts again, this time inside...

Would You Have
Your Body Painted
at an Art Party AND
Would You Want to
Paint on a Body ?
That was the question we were left with at the end of the set of images from the first part of the Art Part on the Roof!
As darkness settled over the city and all of us on the roof at John Glover’s Art Party, folks stepped up to the canvas and painted. Young brothas, cheesed for the camera and worked with the DJ on the music. Periodically, they would cut their eyes over to the earthSistas being airbrushed under the lights.
Off in the cut there were spectators who drank, enjoyed the music and curiously...
