Maurice Evans is the photographer and PrettyBlak is the muse. And together they have created some astounding works. Some of the works they created were featured in the blog, the PangaeasGardenProject because I considered their works to be influential and inspirational to the vision here. They have created a LOT of beautiful, provocative and highly imaginative works of art together. Within a few brief years, Maurice has established himself as one of the best in the field of Black Art and his works has delighted countless collectors of African-American art. No matter the subject or whether the works are executed on paper, wood or canvas – the texture, intense colors, strong emotion and unusual, exaggerated perspectives, are what define a Maurice Evans work. It wasn’t hard to ask them to participate in the Garden. And what they ended up creating was nothing short of creative, artist and provocative.

A while back, I created an entry where I mentioned that I was impressed by the works of the artist Maurice Evans and his muse PrettyBlak. So impressed that I asked them if they would be interested in participating in the Garden. They said yes and proceeded to create a fabulous collection of images that are works of art in themselves. They will be a part of the launch of the portal slated for later this month. In the meantime check out these images of from behind the scene.

Humble ’til the end, he was genuinely surprised when I told him I wanted to feature his works on the blog because I considered him and his works to be influential and inspirational to the vision here. Within a few brief years, Maurice has established himself as one of the best in the field of Black Art and his works has delighted countless collectors of African-American art.
