Playful, thoughtful moments between the moments; that what these outtakes are. They are the opportunities taken to find that comfort zone where the earthSistas work out an equilibrium with the nature around them. Toying with the light and shadow, sharing moments with one another, sometimes lost in thought, both melancholy and reverent, these black & white captures are just that: captures of the earthSistas being real. Graceful and/or awkward. Exhibitionistic and/or coy. Intense and/or irreverent. earthSistas Serenity, Serene, Chadoe, Sincere, Nambi, Sunset, BelaMenina, SolAnjel, AlleyCat, FlowerChild,...

Its a good time to be Afrosensual, don’t you think?
That’s what I am thinking as I look back at what we’ve celebrated in the Garden recently as well as what lies ahead. For example, if you haven’t seen the inspired images of earthSista RaeOfLite in her most recent pictorial feature, why are you denying yourself. The revolutionary earthSista lives up to her namesake in the glorious contribution to Pangea’s Nature Stroll Series. And while you are checking that out, take a gander at the beginnings of the multi-part series of black & white images that are compilations...

Sunlight finds RaeOfLite.
When she would turn or move, you would think that the sun turned and moved with her. The earthbound sista who is always down for the cause is a guiding light of inspiration. RaeOfLite is a muse and its evident on the day she pensively poses on the wood rails of a gazebo looking over a lake whose very presence is designed to be hidden from roaming eyes. And as thirty-foot tall trees reached for the sky, RaeOfLite’s eyes would follow their thrust to the heavens; that is when she was not looking into the camera. When she peers into the lens she portrays the glamour...

Crystal clear waters reflecting beautiful skies filled with swiftly moving puffy clouds… this was the backdrop for the beautiful women who have all taken part in this extraordinary rich series of images that are still never ending. Momentary strolls that were reflective, imaginative, provocative and creative led to some revealing moments in which beauty both inside and out was exposed.
And, from what I see, with this exposure… through this unveiling… there is a serenity. There is a euphoric communion with nature that is liberating. And whether she’s a country girl or urbanista,...

earthSistas in nauture…
what could be a better inspiration?
An earthSista on a nature stroll seemed, to me, to be the perfect theme for Pangea’s Garden. Creating captures of beautiful, natural black women, baring all, in the throws of sensuality and serenity as they communed with God’s gifts… what could be more beautiful than that?
The Series has yielded some astounding images. The earthSistas were inspired by the settings and I was inspired by their interactions with nature.
The moments are unique and timeless. There is a symphony of scents and sounds as well as visions...

On the back porch, sitting on that old couch that my aunt wanted to throw away, we played. Late in the morning on a Saturday that everybody else decided to sleep through, we just rose up and chilled in the morning sun. It was warm but the air was dry and the breeze felt really good. We heard the wind and the birds but nothing else really. It was as if the whole world decided to sleep in and this morning belonged to us. Just us.
Laughter. Fingers touched fingers. Hands stroked chest and massaged feet. Skin on skin.
Humble caresses gave way to an intimacy that made a moment worth living. And as...

Impulsive and vibrant, her upbeat manner is positively infectious. RaeOfLite is ALWAYS smiling and laughing. This adventurous sista is never afraid to try new things and share ideas. She seeks the unusual and grabs onto the unconventional. She searches for truths in the nooks and crevices of those dark little places that most might find to disturbing to explore. She thinks weird is cool and commonality is lame. And when it comes to those dark spaces, its always good to have RaeOfLite by your side.
1. How would you describe your personality/outlook on life?
I am mostly calm, but I can be vibrant...

In Atlanta, I’ve has found a new home at the Goat Farm. A few weeks back we talked about the place when we featured Pangea’s Meet & Greets from last year. The Goat Farm was introduced as one of the new locales that would be ideal for Garden shoots by photographer Bobby Williams of WillowBMedia. I was inspired as soon as a I saw it. Deconstructed and wild, as if nature was reclaiming the space, at the same time, humanity was still making an effort to leave our artistic mark on the space. Its an excellent, organic, industrial, chaotic backdrop for the images we create.
So for my first...

Whispers of winds rustled the leaves while RaeOfLite felt the breezes against her skin like the gentle caresses of Mother Nature. Sunlight danced between the trees and kissed and her skin. She took it all in. Clearing her mind of the troubles of the day, RaeOfLite allowed the flush of nature to flow through her, becoming a part of it; respecting it. The joy that came with it was serene and peaceful. And from it came a strength and focus that empowered the young earthSista. No drama. No stress. Not there. Not then. RaeOfLite approached this setting tabula rasa; absent of any preconceived ideas or...
