cultivate: cultivate |ˈkəltəˌvāt|(verb) 1. till, plow, dig, farm, work, fertilize. the farmers cultivated the land 2. grow, raise, rear, plant, sow. they were encouraged to cultivate local food crops. 3. improve, refine, elevate; educate,  develop, enrich.  earthSistas cultivate their mind, body & spirit

So much is happening in Pangea’ Garden right now, that I have to be honest and say that I am having a hard time keeping up and sharing it all with you.

a new earthSista born

In  Atlanta, artists Maurice Evans and Grace Kisa collaborate with earthSista MoEss to create a set  sensually elegant captures that artistically symbolize a reverence for the Baobab Tree of Life. In Chicago, photographer Tracy Lynn Dies and artist Paul Branton work together with a new earthSista to create works of art and images of their own for to display in the Garden. Its too early to share the concept now but I can tell you that it is nothing short of FABULOUS!

EarthSistas MoEss, SHE and BlaqButtaphly work with KingCliff to take the Garden’s new online talk show into the visual realm. Now “For Real Tho!” (Pangea’s afrosensual, real deal version of “The View”) is on a whole other level. And as other creatives (like artist Maurice Evans) lend their creative and technical expertise to the show, its continues to get better and better. Along the way we come to know and be inspired by the efforts of sista Nefertiti and her  Creative Culture Collective. She joins us in the Garden contributing to Pangea’s SoundCheck.

Behind the scenes with "For Real Tho!"

Down in Florida, SepiaAngel and Remy, the ECCENTRICsoul add JesseeD  to their collective even as Remy prepares to share new visions of his own inspirations. Sabali in Tuscaloosa, AL and Panthera Sol in Memphis TN… Surya Devi in MD and (recently migrated) earthSista Lotus in NYC all deserve praises (and they are not the only ones) for their efforts to cultivate the Garden.

As for me… I rarely talk about my own efforts in the Garden. I share what I create, hoping that everyone is moved by works as well as the works of so many others who have moved me. Its not as easy as it used to be… with so many who have been inspired and moved to contribute to the Garden. And as we have collectively coalesce our works in Pangea, our community is becoming more active and you will see a significant growth in the content. Some of us contributors are increasing the amount of time and effort to share this with and develop the site into the community it is growing to become.

The works of Saddi Khali; look for feature soon in the Afrosensual Aesthetic

We’ve always shared our content as well as the content of others who we’ve casually built an acquaintance. But Pangea’s Garden is the NEXUS for ALL things AFROSENSUAL. It is a mantle that we proudly bear and a role that is necessary in our community. So as we step up and reach out to the likes of Saddi Khali, Jirad and Azmera HarvestGirl;  and as we bring more images and more events, more discussions and more commentary to our community, we need you. We need to know what you want to see, what you’ve like and what you didn’t. We need to know the events you are having as well as the ones you are not and wished you did. We need your inspirations, your comments and your discussions. And now, more than ever, we need your sponsorship.

Pangea’s Garden is a labor of love that has grown to require a great deal of time and expense. So consider signing up for a premium membership. It grants you access to ALL of the Garden’s content and you will be one of the Cultivators of the vision that we’ve ALL planted & raised in Pangea.

Below are some of my captures (behind-the-scenes) of the shoot of earthSista MoEss with artists, Maurice & Grace. Soon the final images from these exotic works of art will grace our community. I can hardly wait. Can you?

Thank you for joining us in the Garden today. Tell us what you think of what you see here and let’s talk again soon.

Vincent.
