A few months ago, Pangea’s Garden had the honor of participating in The Reclamation Project Art Show.
The Reclamation Project (@reclamationartshow on Instagram) is a visual celebration of Black women’s beauty, spirituality, sensuality, sexuality, and their self-image and self-worth. Inspired by classic images from Players Magazine, Players Pictorial, Oh Brother, and Jet magazine’s annual nude calendars of the 1970s, The Reclamation Project is a love letter to Black women of every generation. It is about releasing feelings of shame, guilt, and embarrassment tied to their bodies while reclaiming—and boldly asserting—their womanhood. Above all, it is about finding peace with and loving who you are, exactly as you are.
The roots of what inspired the creation of Pangea’s Garden are deeply connected to the same spirit of celebration and reclamation. So, when we had the opportunity to contribute a piece of our own, several of us came together to create an entry for The Reclamation Project Art Show, hosted at Tri-Cities Tattoo Company. We had an incredible time creating the photographic image that was mounted on canvas for the exhibition.

The images featured here are from that original photoshoot, which produced our contribution to the show. We enjoyed the experience so much that we reunited for another photoshoot afterward, creating even more images that celebrate the same vision. Those photographs are also included in this feature.

Pangea’s Nature Stroll Series… The moments are unique and timeless. There is a symphony of scents and sounds as well as visions that intertwine to create and extraordinary body of stimuli. When you are there, you can’t help but be inspired by God’s design. this was the backdrop for the beautiful women who have all taken part in this extraordinary rich series of images that are still never ending. Momentary strolls that were reflective, imaginative, provocative and creative led to some revealing moments in which beauty both inside and out was exposed.
