This is a momentary interlude.

Pangea’s Camera Club held a meet-up to collaborate on a bodyscapes themed photography session. The intent was to focus on the exploration of artistic and often abstract representation of the human body, by emphasizing on form, curves, and textures and the balance of light and darkness. With this type of imagery one can convey various emotions, moods, and concepts. I wanted to create raw and dramatic visions that were like an abstract narrative that would engage and provoke you. I wanted to discover new ways to create captures that would draw you in.

Pangea’s Camera Club is for those who enjoy capturing and the beauty and the culture that cultivates an Afrosensual Aesthetic. Whether its photos or video, this is a place for everyone who wants creates images whether they are in front of or behind the camera. We meet for events, photo shoots, workshops and networking socials where share tips and perform critiques.

Our meet-ups, usually, stray away from the planned-path, allowing for organic and inspired creativity to kick in and this gathering was no exception. In the process of trying to create images that can tell stories or convey messages through their composition and symbolism, I explored themes of intimacy, empowerment, or vulnerability. Broadening the scope, allowed us to create provocative expressions of Afrosensuality.

I miss the Camera Club meet-ups as everyone has gotten busy and we don’t meet as frequently as we used to. I do look forward to coming together again, growing and doing more than studio photoshoots. What do you think?

We did a lot studio shooting and some nature strolls but there so much more that. Events and fashion and performances are just a few experiences and opportunities that we should share the Garden.

What would you like to see us do more of in the Camera Club? What would you like to see more in Pangea in general?

in·ter·lude ˈin(t)ərˌlo͞od | noun  an intervening period of time. 2 a temporary amusement or source of entertainment that contrasts with what goes before or after.

An Interlude in the Garden is a momentary collection of casual captures. They are informal and open and sometimes intimate. Interludes can be spontaneous; they can be exploratory. An Interlude can be an icebreaker, where photographer and muse get to know each other. In this case, bodyscape explorations of form, figure and light led to opportunities to capture moments of smoke, intimacy and black love. Sometimes romantic. Sometimes a little steamy. Always beautiful.
