The sun was high, casting golden rays over the backyard’s tall trees and wild grass. The Ṣómìdé Dela Terre stood at the back door, looking out at the vibrant greens and the natural beauty of the bush. Something about the day felt right. Without overthinking it, she impulsively slipped into her new look — a bold one-piece decorated with cheetah spots and butterfly prints, a celebration of nature’s fierce yet delicate beauty.
Pangea’s Gardener noticed her energy shift and was inspired by it. Eyes lighting up at the sight of her radiant melanin and striking swimsuit, he immediately grabbed his camera. “Let’s do this,” he said, enthusiasm bubbling as they stepped out into the backyard.
With a mischievous smile, she moved between the wild grass, her limbs loose and free. Every pose felt natural, spontaneous—one moment playful, twirling with her arms outstretched, the next moment sensual, basking in the warmth of the sun, her body language bold yet serene. The Gardener captured it all, his lens following her joyful dance with the setting.
Her laughter filled the air as she spun and struck another pose. The swimsuit caressed her figure, accentuating her curves while the bold prints brought out the fire in her spirit. She felt alive, vibrant, and unapologetically herself, every click of the camera capturing her essence.
Ṣómìdé grabbed handcrafted waist beads and posed with these creation of her own design; her smile and the beads gleamed in the sunlight. She ran her fingers over them, proud of the art she created. In that backyard, surrounded by nature and her own art, she embodied joy, beauty, and sensuality.
The entire experience was brief; like 30 minutes. It was an impulsive celebration of her creative freedom and self-expression.

An Interlude in the Garden is a momentary collection of casual captures. They are informal and open and sometimes intimate. Interludes can be spontaneous; they can be exploratory. An Interlude can be a momentary creative break between looks or an icebreaker, where photographer and muse get to know each other. On a casual weekend afternoon, Ṣómìdé Dela Terre and Pangea’s Gardener acted on impulsive inspiration. It was light moment of creative collaboration and intuitive inspiration that led to captured moments like the ones above.

When you are there, you can’t help but be inspired by God’s design. this was the backdrop for the beautiful women who have all taken part in this extraordinary rich series of images that are still never ending. Momentary strolls that were reflective, imaginative, provocative and creative led to some revealing moments in which beauty both inside and out was exposed.
