It was a lovers night.
Most nights at Pangea’s Afrosocial are lovers nights.
Artisans Honi Montique and Maharajah Moor were in attendance, adorning Pangea’s MUSES in creations of their making on that cool night in October a few years ago. Artists and photographers created inspired images. Couples were entertained in the background by the antics on stage and on the models’ podium as they imbibed fine drinks and consumed delicious entrees. It was intoxicating evening of organized chaos filled with moments of color and sensuality and love. I sought to capture a couple of those moments with Honi and Maharajah.
There is so much love in the adornments they create. Enriched and inspired by the culture that is their shared heritage, they are artisans of some of the Finest Copper, Brass and Silver Wire Wrapped Jewelry around. And on this night… that culture… that heritage… their creations… their love all are celebrated.
This interlude is a collection of inspired captures of the love that is, uniquely, their own.
ROOTS OF THE GARDEN is a new series that will feature unseen works from past promos, behind-the-scenes content and outstanding outtakes that deserve celebration. There will be more features coming from this this shoot as well as many others a part of this series.
What do you think about this set and the series it’s a part of? What more would you like to see?
in·ter·lude | ˈin(t)ərˌlo͞od | noun 1 an intervening period of time. 2 a temporary amusement or source of entertainment that contrasts with what goes before or after.
An Interlude in Pangea’s Garden is a momentary collection of casual captures. They are informal and open and sometimes intimate. Interludes can be spontaneous; they can be exploratory. An Interlude can be an icebreaker, where photographer and muse get to know each other. As lovers of Pangea’s Afrosocial, Honi and Mahrajah decided to participate behind the scenes by adorning earthSista Alluris at her first Afrosocial. Vincent, inspired by the chemistry they share, asked if he could create a few captures of them and they agreed.
Beautiful.
