CANVAS, the live art Afrosocial, began the paint…
Art has always been a part of the culture in Pangea. Afrosensuality inspires it. The act of creating has always been a healing, therapeutic experience, and in the case of this event, it became an opportunity to bond. The intent was to create a Sip-N-Paint experience for folks craving typical date night or girls night out experiences. We’d done that before and folks enjoyed it. And for the people who were bolder, wanting a more exhibitionistic, atypical night we included the Primal Paint escapade in which your body was the canvas and anyone you wanted could paint on you.
These are a few images from the promotional photoshoot for the event along with some images from the actual night’s festivities. The people who came out to participate all gravitated to Primal Paint and while the turnout was light, it also open and celebratory and healing in its own way.
Pangea will definitely revisit this experience as part of our Elevation Project (more on that later) and we’d like to know: Would you like to have a CANVAS event where you are? Would you like to come to Atlanta and participate when we do it again?
Do you want to know more about Elevation and would you like to be a part of it? Please respond and let us know.
