Hey, y’all!* This one is a little bit of this, and a little bit of that, with a smooth groove for your easy summer days.

I cannot express how delighted I am that Tweet is back. I’ve always called her sound “New Blues,” and her particular brand of sweet melancholy was always welcome in my collection, despite the fact that I favor “happier” music. Last week, she began #TweetTuesdays, a weekly song offering to whet our appetites until she releases her new album this fall. Two songs in, and she hasn’t disappointed yet. Her voice is as sublime, sweet and powerful as ever.

First up is her cover of Aretha Franklin’s “Daydreaming:”

Her next release is “Trouble,” an original piece about keeping her head up, despite her propensity to find trouble at every turn.

Follow Tweet on Twitter for more weekly goodies.

Oh, I ain’t done yet. I got some more freshness for ya. Anthony Valadez has been buzzing about in soul circles for a while now, but for those of us who aren’t “in-the-know,” his name may not be familiar. Hopefully, that’ll change with his debut LP, Just Visiting. His first single, “Under Water” features Mar, the Dutch tenor who’s swooning his way into bedrooms worldwide. Sink into Valadez’s familiar, relaxing vibe.

Lastly, I give you Diggs Duke, a new jazz artist with a distinctive, refreshing sound and eyebrows that are impressively thick and shiny (don’t act like you didn’t notice them!). Duke has been in heavy rotation around my way since I first heard of his EP, Gravity. I’m sure I’ll probably be doing a full post dedicated to Duke in the future, so stay tuned for that. I have a feeling this brother’s going to bring something special to the aural atmosphere. For now, get into two of his most recent releases, “Patiently, We Bloom” and a cover of Thundercat Bass’ “IS IT LOVE?” featuring violinist Vaughan Octavia.

Until next time…

*Did I just disappear for MONTHS and pop back in like nothing happened? Yes. Yes I did.
